Saigon 2 Restaurant serves good, solid Vietnamese food. Tonight, I ordered the tasty Phò Bò, which comes with rice noodles, tender sliced beef steak, beef tendon, and the usual assortment of add-ins, like bean sprouts, cilantro, sliced jalapenos, and Thai basil. I can't recall if there was fresh mint or not, but if not, it wasn't missed. The broth, which was pork-based, was thin but tasty - not too spicy even with the added jalapenos. The best part about Phò is the low price. Our total (two people) was only about $15. Whatadeal. The ambiance was pleasant, and out waiter was friendly and attentive. Would I go out of my way to dine here? Probably. It is easy to get Phò, but hard to get really good Phò.

This is my first visit to a Vietnamese restaurant in New Mexico and I don't see ANY reason to go anywhere else. The food is awesome and so are the people! Can't wait to go back!!

This joints IS the best restaurant Vietnamese in ABQ.Their pho, pork chop, bun bo hue soup are fresh. Great service. You will be addicted to this place once u tried one time.

First place I had pho in Albuquerque when I moved here and still one of my favorites! Their rare beef pho is on point with any in the city. I like the pho broth here more than anywhere, it's always great and very tasty! Their spring rolls are also great, they have bean sprouts, basil, lettuce, carrots in them, with the meat of your choice, unlike some places that only have the noodles and meat. Their portions are a little bit smaller than most Vietnamese places I have been to, but the food quality is much better than most also! They also have a second location on San Mateo and I go there quite often also. I can promise, if you like Vietnamese food, you will not be disappointed by coming here, I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Really, really good food! My husband had the Pho and I had a combo plate. He is very particular about his pho and he said it was probably one of the best in the city. I had a combo with lemon grass chicken, and fried rice and fried prawns and steamed veggies. The fried rice is something I will dream about and crave, it was so good!! And the chicken which was spicy (no indication on menu) but really really good, I mean I like a sweet and super spicy but really yummy!!! We also had spring rolls which I wasn't too keen on, had mint and cilantro and I'm not a fan of cilantro, but my husband loved them. But again I must rave about the fried rice! It had these little bits of pork, which I will call heaven, and shrimp... It's been 5 days and I really want to order it again! I can't wait to go back! Friends in Rio Rancho, I highly recommend this yummy place!

Picked up for dinner. We had egg rolls, beef pho and a BBQ Beef Combo plate. It was ok. Maybe I ordered wrong. Will have to try again. I loved the egg rolls!

Love this place. Great service and food every time. Just as good as any Vietnamese place I've ever visited.

Saigon is hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant in the Albuquerque metro area, and having a location closer to home is simply outstanding. Solid, delicious food every time delivered by friendly and accommodating staff. The egg rolls are a must have for every visit, and my mouth waters for the rice plates with shredded pork and pork chop or lemongrass chicken (add a fried egg to your plate, you won't be disappointed!). The pho is also outstanding, served with well-seasoned broth and all the accompaniments you'd expect. I love to finish off my meal with an iced coffee, made fresh when you order.

My friend and I both ordered rice noodle bowls and got sick afterwards.

I first became acquainted with Pho (pronounced fuh, not foh) on the east coast in Virginia outside Washington DC where there is a very large population of Vietnamese and other Asian people. A Vietnamese roommate introduced it to me. I've since had many many bowls of hot pho. Saigon City is easily the best I've had on the west side and WAY better than Pho Bar(which gave me and my companion the runs immediately after consumption). Saigon City is fast and clean and affordable. Try some of the other items on the menu!

My wife and I are frequent flyers at Vietnamese restaurants. This one was very nice. good service good food. Will definitely beer back

The food here is amazing! I'm so glad I can get a decent Vietnamese dish in Rio Rancho. I havent found anywhere else in Rio Rancho or in the west side of Albuquerque that is this good!. Service is always polite and kind. My only concern is the location, entry/egress from the plaza they are in can be slightly difficult. Also dinig space inside can be sometimes cramped. Other than that its great!

This Vietnamese restaurant is one that I stand by. It's a nice place that packs a lot of flavor in their food. I love it, and I will definitely be back for more. I had grilled pork, grilled prawns and rice with a sweet and sour sauce on the side... it was to die for. I ate that whole plate up, and for the price, you can't beat Saigon. I don't know what more to say... it was great! Their vietnamese coffee with boba takes a long time to make though. I was about halfway done with my food before I got my drink. It wasn't that great either, and the boba came out a little tough. Probably won't be getting that again. The atmosphere is a little quiet when it's not a full restaurant, it felt a tad bit lonely when it was just my table. Maybe some music would be good, or if it's already there, playing it a little louder. Service was pretty good here. I believe the owner of the restaurant was our server, and he was very attentive to our needs and water refills. I will be coming back again, thank you for a great Vietnamese restaurant that's close by! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

Great food, reasonable prices!! What I like the most about this place that it's clean and doesn't stink. Automatically 4 stars for that+ good food/service!

Delicious - Delicious - clean restaurant - great customer service - clean bathrooms - tables, glassware, silverware, and menus spotless.
(5)Ricky G.
This food is so good and is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant in the Rio Rancho area. The owner is also so nice and loves to explain and recommend different dishes to try. I feel very welcomed and at home when I eat there.

We had a #28 and #52, both very solid dishes, though the #28 was a bit better. Beef was tender, not overcooked (but certainly not rare- I don't like rare), plenty of vegetables and the noodles were very tasty. The pork in 52 was pretty solid, but the rice was a touch dry for my liking. perhaps with some more sauce on top it would have been just right. Thai iced tea was a little overly sweet but we just added water and it was perfect, so it's like we scored extra for free ;) service was as expected (they are always polite to a fault, there when you need, and not hovering over you when you don't). overall, a solid 4, can't beat the price and no glaring problems. even had some to take home so you'll either leave full, stuffed, engorged, or have a 2nd meal manana. oh, and to the guy who talked about not enough choices on the menu....umm, did we eat at the same establishment? dude, there's like 125 things on the menu? I like my novels written by Clive Cussler or Tom Clancy, not the local Vietnamese chef! ;)

Their Pho is great. The broth is delicious, fresh Cilantro, lime, bean sprouts, jalapeño, and the rare beef is always fantastic. The atmosphere is typical of a strip mall restaurant, the employees are always helpful and kind. Also, Pho is the best hangover cure!
(5)Lori M.
The food at Saigon 2 is fresh and delicious! Try the combination #1, which has the best fried rice I have ever had, plus onion beef rolls. Those rolls are addictive! I have never had a bad meal there. For that matter, I have never had a mediocre one, either. The service is helpful, friendly, and fast. Highly recommended.
(5)Gabby O.
Service is always great, everyone is kind and friendly. Food is amazing, the pho with raw beef is my favorite. By far the best pho in Albuquerque/Rio Rancho. You can also get it to go which is an awesome option. I travel from Albuquerque to Rio Rancho for this stuff!
(5)Jen K.
My first foray into Vietnamese food in ABQ was a good one. 3.5 stars for service and food. I had the beef pho combination, which was huge - I can't imagine what an extra large would look like. Perhaps it would be served in a bucket. Decent amount of rare steak, tendon, and tripe. There might have been some brisket in there too, but not a ton. The fried egg rolls were also good, you can get a half order (3rolls) for $4. Everything came with all the fixins (thai basil, jalapeños, bean sprouts; egg rolls too, plus the usual lettuce for wrapping), even some cilantro. The pho section of the menu was very small, but I assume you can do your own variation on combinations of the beef parts. Overall, good experience and I will be back for my next pho fix. **unlike most pho places, they take credit cards, but no amex.

I heard really good things about this place from a few coworkers so thought I would try it out. When I walked into Saigon I was the only in the resturant which had me a bit scared since it was Friday night. I started off with the spring rolls which were good I then had the Pho which was amazing. This was some of the best Pho I had in Albuquerque. This place is a total hidden gem especially for Rio Rancho.

I got the 61, I would highly suggest it if you like rice and chicken... Lol, I would of takin a pic but I was distracted by the delicious smell. Coming back for sure!

So excited to have such an excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Rio Rancho now. I've been twice, and each time my companions and I found the food intensely flavorful and delicious. The staff is very smiling and friendly. The decor in the restaurant is fairly bare bones but who cares: Go there for the food. I've had the rice paper vegetarian spring rolls and the pork egg roll ones, and both are great. The bun with grilled prawns and thinly sliced pork is very good. My friend had the bun with grilled beef and onion and enjoyed hers too. I've also tried the combination dinner with barbecued beef, and it's a good value at less than 9 dollars. A beautifully prepared salad with a tasty dressing starts it off, followed by a huge portion of fried rice, beef rolls filled with grilled onion, and egg rolls.

Great place to go for Vietnamese food! They are clean and they accommodate accordingly. Their prices are good as well as their portions. You are likely to leave with a " to go bag". Their "Pho-Ga" plate/ soup is outstanding. They have a good selection and variety to offer , again they are definitely worth to give them a try.
(5)Leslie R.
Had a great first time Vietnamese food experience here! The service was helpful and friendly, showing us the ropes of how to prepare the food and eat it. The food was really good. I ordered the pho special and it was delicious! I will definitely be going back.. and soon!

We were staying in Rio Rancho and wanted a Pho Phix. The internet led me to Saigon 2, which was close by our motel. We were happy we wouldn't have a long drive for dinner. Evidently this is a second restaurant opened, the other being simply "Saigon Restaurant" on San Mateo. Saigon 1 has received good reviews so we were anticipating some good food at S2, we weren't disappointed. S2 is located in a strip mall at the NE corner of Unser and Southern Blvd SE. Be advised the address is Southern Blvd, but the restaurant faces Unser, on the west "corner" of the mall. We drove around the mall before finding it. It's clean and comfortable and the people working there are smiling and helpful. They will advise if you need help with the different offerings. Our server had a rather thick accent and we had some trouble understanding, but that's part of the experience! I had the rice noodle with beef and my wife ordered seafood prawn and pork pho. Both were served with fresh bean sprouts, basil and peppers that can be added to your liking. My noodles came with a small saucer of Nuc cham, which is added to the bowl as you eat. (Fish sauce with sugar and water.) Both were tasty and fresh, the prawns were large and plentiful. The next time you need some Pho try Saigon 2 in Rio Rancho.

Stopped by for take out last night quite late (9pm) and ordered egg roll order (#3, $7.50) and an order of Pho (#13, $7.50). While I waited the staff were super nice, invited me to sit and have some water. They seemed genuinely happy to be there. Everything was delicious, and this is by far the best Pho I've had in ABQ... so far! I'll be back for sure!
(4)Carli M.
Love their pho, but they don't have a wine/beer license, which is bummer .
(4)L J.
Very good inexpensive food. We had the chicken fried rice and an order of beef pho. Yummy!
(5)Michael G.
I eat a lot of Vietnamese food and have for many years. This Saigon 2 is just as good if not better than the original location in Albuquerque. Us in Rio Rancho have a number of Vietnamese choices (thank god) Siagon 2 is hands down winning new customers over every day with the fresh amazing quality and superb service! Shop Local!

When I first started speeding more time in Albuquerque, I made a list of all the Vietnamese restaurants. Then if I looked up at a certain part of town, I'd just look to see what was close to try. It was a great way to come to know the different types of Vietnamese specialties we have in town! As I ate my way across town, if a server or busboy was nice I would ask where THEY eat on their day off. Then I asked where they ate if grandma was sick! Unanimously they said Saigon at San Mateo and Osuna, by Cliff's Water Park. And now the same family opened a second location at Unser and Southern. One trip to Saigon sealed the deal, and now it is where I always go for Vietnamese comfort food that is made with love and pride. If a new customer walks in, Vicky can see the questions in their eyes. She asks a couple of questions then makes suggestions for what they will like. Then when the food comes out, she makes sure you know how to eat the exotic and beautiful and fresh food. For instance, the egg rolls are served with beautiful fresh herbs and lettuce leaves. Put a little basil inside the lettuce leaf, then lay the fried egg roll on top of that, then roll it up and dip it in the fish sauce. The lettuce gives the light sauce something to stick to, and makes the egg roll a second layer of treat!! Everything is good. You can't come here without getting a spring roll. The best and freshest, and a sauce so good I want to eat it with a spoon! A "small" wonton soup is an appetizer on the menu that is guaranteed to brighten even a sunny day! Then "Bun" is a bed of fresh greens, bean sprouts and herbs under thin rice noodle vermicelli. Then you have a choice of protein, with mine being grilled prawns and thinly sliced marinated grilled pork. It comes with a small bowl of sweet/salty/sour sauce that is known as "fish sauce", that you pour over the dish ... Then DIG IN!!! This one is entree size portion. Thank you for giving us good food on both sides of town!

So glad to have Saigon 2 in the area! Found it here on Yelp and had to work to find the restaurant as it fronts Unser with a Southern Blvd address. Went with our kids on Saturday night and the service was outstanding, with excellent descriptions of the food and suggestions. Ordered the egg rolls... fantastic! They come with lettuce leaves, mint (I think?), basil, and fish sauce to wrap. So yummy! I would stop in here just for these. We all shared different dishes so we could taste many things. Nothing disappointed and since we mostly took the waiters suggestions, I'm not even sure what we ordered. One was a noodle dish with veggies... lemongrass and ?. Another rice dish and one curry dish. Will be looking for a reason to go back soon! Near the Rio Rancho movie theater, so maybe movie night soon!

Same great food and service and their other restaurant on San Mateo. Best Pho in town!
(5)Colin C.
This is the best Vietnamese restaurant on the west side and also one of the best in Albuquerque / Rio Rancho. The pho here is great, very tasty and also very cheap. All the grilled pork dishes here are great also, such as the grilled pork and baby rice (com tam thit nuong). In addition, the fried spring rolls are great as well -- we like them with fish sauce and chili garlic sauce (over the peanut sauce). The service is fast and efficient. Can't go wrong here.

I have eaten at this restaurant over 100 times. The owner is awesome, the service is excellent and the food is extremely fresh and delicious. I work nearby. About once a week for 3 years or so I have gone here on my lunch break. I typically order rare steak pho and it comes out in literally 2 or 3 minutes. It costs me $8 unless I splurge and get egg rolls (Which are awesome) . I'm in, out, didn't pay much and I ate a huge filling lunch that is pretty healthy compared to all the fatty deep fried foods in the area. I recommend this place to anyone with a noodle soup craving.
(5)Bill F.
I read the other reviews and decided to try. I don't know what these people are thinking. Maybe they've never tried pho before but this good is just plain bland. Pho 79 on Candelaria is so much better.
(2)Nikki W.
This Place has the best Pho I've ever had... Everything is so fresh and the table side service is impeccable. If you are new to Pho this is the place for you... I also had egg rolls (6) for 8 bucks, which the waiter showed us exactly they should be eaten... He even made my sauce for the Pho tableside according to my taste. I will definitely return to try other things on the menu. The portion sizes are also very generous. Wish this place was in Gallup.
(5)Orion A.
Was absolutely surprised on Sunday when I made my first trip to Saigon 2. Excellent food, the best service I've had in quite some time, and the prices are excellent! I will be a frequent customer of this establishment. One of the best kept secrets in Rio Rancho!
(5)Marie F.
Friendly, cozy atmosphere. Awesome food. My fav is #32...pork & prawns with rice noodles, the shrimp is so tender & tastes great. The pork is tender and the flavor is wonderful. The Thai tea with boba is delicious also. Can't wait to go again tonight. I usually get 2 of everything because my co-workers love it too.
